Holiday Present Giveaway for Kids & Teens

For Kids from birth to age 18 Thanks to generous donations from Trenton community organizations, the Trenton Free Public Library will be distributing holiday presents for kids from December 15 thru December 17. Sign up is required! To reserve a gift, please call the Children’s Room at 609-392-7188 ext. 32 before December 11.

The start date for this event has been postponed until January 23. Classes will be held through March 6. For Kids ages 9 – 14. Learn how to make your own comics in this 6-session online class offered by the West Windsor Arts Council and supported by a grant from BlackRock. Classes will be held every Saturday January 23th - March 6 from 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM on Zoom. There will be no class on February 13. Registration begins December 6 and is required! Classes will be held on Zoom. A Computer, laptop, phone or tablet with internet access is necessary to access the classes. All other materials will be provided and will need to be picked up at the library before the first class. “poetree” slam

For Kids of All Ages! Did you know April is National Poetry Month? Help us decorate our “Poetree” in the library! Drop off a written copy of a poem that YOU wrote and we’ll hang it on one of the trees in the Children’s Room. Decorate your paper so your poem is sure to stand out! Can’t get to the library? No worries! You can also email us a copy of your poem and we’ll hang it for you ( email: tfpl.youthref@gmail.com.) OR Email us a video of you reading your poem and we’ll post it on social media. But make sure to stop by the library at some point, because everyone who submits a poem can pick out a book to keep AND a prize from the prize box!

119th Birthday Celebration

Trenton Free Public Library is turning 119 years old, and we are celebrating! On June 5th, 2021 from 11 am to 2 pm, the library will be hosting an outdoor celebration in front of the library. This event will feature an outdoor history exhibit, art projects for patrons, take-home crafts, and refreshments!

Open Streets, Open Studios

Art All Day and Ciclovia, two great events, have joined forces for one amazing day of art, bikes, and socially-distanced fun in the streets! There are a lot of great art and outdoor activities planned, as well as walking and bike tours for all abilities. Ciclovia will be at Warren Street with TDA and Breunig Ave with the East Trenton Collaborative. Art All Day sites will include Artworks and sites all over the city. This free, public event is rain or shine and will take place on Saturday, September 18th, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
